While meeting with his editor Maya at the picture book publisher where he submits his work, Shōji hears her complain about misdirected complaints meant for a similarly named gossip magazine notorious for celebrity scandals. The conversation sparks a brilliant idea in Shōji's mind: use the confusion to his advantage and mislead the reporters targeting Minami. Determined to shield her from scandal without sacrificing their future, he reaches out to Kazuhiro ("Kazuhiro Big Brother" from Minami's TV show) and secures his reluctant cooperation. Days later, Shōji deliberately appears in front of the gossip journalist who has been staking out Minami. Instead of hiding, he confronts the reporter head-on with a carefully crafted story—perhaps implying a different, fabricated connection or creating a public distraction involving Kazuhiro to shift suspicion away from himself. The plan hinges on misdirection and bluffing, forcing the magazine to chase false leads.
